Videoblogging Week 2006 Day 4: Talking About Losing Weight...

I've lost a noticeable (to me) amount of weight lately and I've been feeling the need to talk about it.
The vlog is 23MB - just so you know.

A quick experiment with sneaky taping and subtitling...This is the "Week of Vlogging Dangerously" I am trying to take more risks - contrary to all my loud-mouthing about being anti-intellectual property, I am very scared of getting in trouble for taping someone without their knowledge.

Lately I've been reading about the snake handling religions in the Appalachian region. I'm finding myself drawn to extreme acts of spirituality. The Gossip played here in Toronto last week and when I go to their shows I get that same feeling of letting go that I think the snake handlers feel. It's not all-consuming, but I do give myself up to just enjoying the ride that is Beth Ditto's voice.
Check out the Gossip's new album "Standing in the Way of Control" and see for yourself.

Recently my dentist told me to go ahead and eat gum (sugarless, of course) because it wasn't going to hurt my teeth - even though for years I avoided gum because of my TMJ (term for screwed up jaw).
In becoming a gum chewer, I've been trying out lots of varieties & flavours. Lately I've noticed that gum doesn't have a flavour so much as a brand image - there's these new gums by Excel that are called "Voltage" and "Crash" - what does that TASTE like?
Anyway, yesterday I got suckered into impulse buying this new packaging for Juicy Fruit - 60 pieces of gum in one container. No bubble packs that you have to bust the little things out of. Now normally I take two pieces of gum at a time because I hate the size & the quick loss of flavour you get with one. With 60 pieces of already unwrapped gum....well - you see what happens.

This is the journey of Angus' squirrel hunt in Toronto. We were looking for white squirrels specifically but none were spotted.
This clip is from the summer - an interesting discussion about what kind of stuff people had found on the internet that freaked them out. This group of folks are not easily shocked...
I've been sick with strep throat lately - finally I can sit up again and try to make some posts. So here's a clip from a few months ago - my best friend Tracy is trying to understand why the pictures of her on my digital camera suck. It's true that they suck, and that all film pictures of her are always breathtaking...but I believe it's because of the sucky flash on my camera - not as she states "getting uglier".
We're rounding the bend into spring and I needed a little mich fix. PLUS, I've seen a few of these speedy-photo vlog posts lately and I wanted to try it.
The music is by Corner Tour, two of the members have cameos in this clip.
Photos are by me and also by Gretchen Phillips.

Well, the news just came in. As of 12:01 am my teachers, and all the college teachers in Ontario are on strike. I'm not sure if I really wanted this to happen or not - I'm having mixed feelings. Only time will tell how this pans out.
Might mean more time to post in the next few weeks, so that's a good thing.
My good friend Judith is one year older today, and this is a little birthday video just for her. Anyone else can look at it, but remember - it's for HER :)
Warning!!! - Use of fake blood, and some partial nudity! - Possibly not worksafe.
