That was a very big breakfast. what video of mine werer you referring to? what made it so "white"? (besides the color of my skin?)I also hope that Vlogging doesn't lose it's genuine nature.

this is such a good idea.
like a conversation over breakfast.
you are very natural and that is the power.

these are questions we all have.
how to talk to people in iran.
do we go there and talk to them?
do we give them these tools and have them talk to us? i dont know. we just have to let things unfold.
no one has answers and that makes me feel a lot better about the world.
keep talking, we're listening.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! I wish more people could talk more openly (myself included). Enjoyed it.

i noticed nobody commented on the gender issue yet. so i will.

not because I disagree with the others. Iran, all that stuff. (I have a friend in Nepal I am trying to get become an active videoblogger, will follow that up TODAY. Btw, his blog is here.

Those 13 years must have been hell. Or, maybe not hell, it's not like those questions become the Very Centre of one's life (besides extreme cases) but it sure must have been difficult years. Gender goes SO deep, deeper than we often realize.

When I first saw this movie, I was actually convinced it was a guy talking. Then "huh?" and I noticed these little things, body language, and I came to a huge a-ha and - having heard your background - I will vlog some of my own background next time. Some of the issues I am dealing with myself. They are not about my gender, thank heaven (not that I feel Sorry for you, but you know what I mean), but identity in general is also something I work on a lot. Who defines who you are? Are they right to define us? To put us in this or that box?

I hope you can tell us how the 'medication' is going, and give us now and then an update. I do hope this doesnt become the focus of your vlog though. There is a LOT of time ahead, we have all the time in the world to get to know each other. It's funny; I feel I know you, yet I don't, do I?

TV is so powerful. Video is so powerful - we feel we know someone who participates in some reality show. But often we forget the distinction between a closed system like 'big brother' and real life.

Identity - huge issues/questions. Your vlog has inspired me. I will post a reply of some sort soon.

Take care, and please show us something from Toronto one day. I SO much want to visit Toronto, and I have several friends who live around there (mostly people I know through TIG - www.takingitglobal.org)

ok, ciao

I really liked this post. I have had trans aquaintances at various points in my life, but I didn't feel like I knew them well enough to talk with them about that aspect of their lives. This was really interesting for me and demonstrates to me once again the power of videoblogging. It's a place where people who want to share can.

I am convinced that everyone is their own unique universe. For example you and I would be considered white, we both are North Americans, both college educated, both like to cook, but we also have so many differences. That's what is so fun about getting to know people...finding out what isn't obvious at first glance.

I love this video. It felt like I was just sitting on a chair in your kitchen listening to you talk while you cooked breakfast. Like we were friends just talking about life.

I hope that this page & video get archived somewhere so that our decendents can look back on the start of this - whatever it becomes. Whatever that will be, this is a perfect example of this developing medium.

I have a page in the Nat'l. Archives of Canada from my early Internet days. I have no idea what it will mean a hundred years from now, but right now my page looks goofy to me - I'm sure your breakfast won't.

I don't remember how I ended up here, but I'm really glad I did. Thanks for being so honest and open. You're one of those people that I wish I could go hang out with after watching only one video :-)

It was interesting for me to discover this post today, because only yesterday I made one that makes me identify with it a lot. The issues are different, but I feel like the spirit is somehow the same. Its odd to live a life that is affected significantly by the "artificial" elements you are putting in your body.

I guess now I'll have to catch up, since this is an "old" video!
